About The Golf Course

For over 50 years, Salem Golf Club has treated its members to golf as it was meant to be experienced – challenging, creative and set amidst gorgeous, picturesque views. With a reputation as one of the most demanding, yet playable courses in the area, our goal is to spark the desire for both championship play and that of the everyday golfer.

In 1966, golf course architect & designer, Edward Ryder sought to maintain the integrity of what was formerly the Nichols property, a 165 acre dairy farm. He utilized the rolling landscape and preserved the natural beauty of the land. The end result – the ultimate in country elegance and breathtaking vistas from nearly all of the tees.

With thoroughly manicured greens and a back nine sure to challenge even the most skilled player, our award-winning course will appeal to your love of the game and spoil you with the visually

stunning backdrop of Westchester county. Contoured fairways, clever doglegs, undulating greens, and water creatively dispersed throughout the layout make for a truly memorable golf experience.

Whether you’re a beginner or an avid golfer, our course will test your skill and provide the quality of play every golfer seeks. From our men’s and women’s leagues and specialty tournaments such as Twilight Golf and Nine Wine & Dine, we offer a variety of formats for members to thoroughly enjoy their time here at Salem.

Additionally, no set tee times make it easy and accessible to tee off, while a team of highly skilled PGA golf instructors and and an extensive practice facility will help improve your game.

Salem Golf Club… your paradise found.

Pro Tip

The speed of a putt dictates the size of the hole. The size of a standard golf hole is 4.25 inches. One revolution of the golf ball is 5.26 inches, about the length of a dollar bill. Each revolution of the golf ball shrinks the effective width of the hole by 12%. The harder you hit a putt, the smaller the hole gets and the less chance you have of making it.
